Wonder Man, who is he? If you’re not a fan of Marvel Comics, you might have been asking that question since you learned about the future MCU series. Now that Marvel&#8217 has released the first trailer for the present, that problem has a few new layers of interpretation.

The mythical hero is the legend of a popular sci-fi line from the &#8217, 60s or &#8217, 70s, something similar to Star Trek: The Original Series, in the trailer setting up Wonder Man‘s world. Out-of-work actor Simon Williams ( Yahya Abdul-Mateen II ) sees a chance at stardom when a reclusive European filmmaker called Von Kovacs ( Zlatko Buri, who was recently seen playing a political allegory in Superman ) decides to revive the character for a new movie.

Know Man is stumbling a little bit from the comic book character’s origins just based on this preview. Wonder Guy first appeared as a musclebound representative of Masters of Evil in 1964&#8217, Avengers #9, with the assistance of Stan Lee, Don Heck, and Jack Kirby. Know Man perishes in the battle, but he doesn’t realize that Baron Zemo duped him to defeat the Avengers and aids Earth’s Mightiest Heroes until he realizes that he has been duped. Even if Ultron after uses his mind patterns to aid in the creation of Vision, he remains useless for a long time.

Know Man later resurrects as an ionic becoming and rejoins the Avengers, where he becomes best friends with X-Man Beast and after the West Coast Avengers. Along the way, Wonder Man also has a job as a stuntman in Hollywood, which is a peculiar plot line that has unmistakably influenced the Wonder Man TV set.

Very little of that graphic book nature is revealed in the trailer unless the Hollywood setting. The original Wonder Man movie’s footage does, however, show the hero sporting a variation of Williams ‘ red and green duds for his first outing.

The Wonder Man trailer is jam-packed with references, including those to Marvel itself, despite how narrow on comic book references it may be. The trailer depicts a world where everyone has grown weary of hero films, making it perhaps the most perfect illustration of Stan Lee’s vision of the Marvel Universe. The government is perplexed when a Van Kovac&#8217, s-torn director decides to take over the Question Man property. A real actor would like to collaborate with characters, but why?

Van Kovac and fresh Simon Williams both engage in conversation about the current mythology of superheroes, which suggests that the hero has a primal instinct in all people.

Did Wonder Man be able to persuade the audience that Marvel is today’s high art? Or did Wonder Man‘s regular in-jokes make it a real movie to its most recent funny film, The Divorced She-Hulk: Attorney at Law? We&#8217, ill find out soon.
