The first child cast as Aang was for a talented, wonderful artist, but he appeared to be a baby. They had to cast, and they discovered a child who had left New York. He was a great artist, but we only ever had a few shows. He intended to pursue acting. He wasn’t solid enough, so it really didn’t work out. The name character is the man. He is the Avatar, not the Avatar. It has to be the most powerful artist in the entire collection. Therefore they discovered Zach Tyler Eisen, a youngster who was so amazing. Along with being an instinctively talented artist, he was enrolling in violin lessons, weightlifting lessons, regular college, and a ton of different classes.

What he had to do was ADR re-record and remove the child before him for the first several incidents, which were already animated. With someone else’s schedule and lips wings, he had to make it his individual.
