Star Wars: Starfighter by Shawn Levy is taking place. No, actually. Lucasfilm is releasing a new Star Wars film that is neither a ( direct ) sequel to the Skywalker Saga nor a spinoff of The Mandalorian, despite what purveyors of chronic online skepticism propagate. And it now has the supporting cast. The last 24 hours has ]… ]
Star Wars: Starfighter Has the Chance to Would Things Unseen Since The Force Awakens first appeared on Den of Geek.
It takes a time for my eyes to adjust to the gloomy surroundings of an area of scallywags and rogues as the sun-washed orange gates opened and I enter The Beak and Barrel. In the Magic Kingdom’s newest eating and beverage experience, thieves of the Caribbean ( and thieves from all over, really ) gather to eat burger, drink whiskey, song, praise, and chortle. We had a sneak look at this all-ages, but very Arrrr-rated tavern at last week’s Walt Disney World Play’n ‘ Paint function, which is currently fully booked through October and opens Aug. 29, 2025.  ,
The Beak and Barrel, which is a fully-realized interactive area stuffed like a plunderer’s chest full of gold for the eye to feast upon, is located next to the Pirates of the Caribbean destination in Adventureland. Due to the Magic Kingdom’s selection of drinks and stronger souls, it is a unique experience. However, the rum-forward beverages and the Caribbean-themed foods from the kitchen provide a lot of history.
This pirate shelter was established by rumrunner Meridian” Merry” Goldwyn, according to Disney legend, and Rummy, “her sociable bird quartermaster,” is in charge of keeping things order. Rummy is a Jolly Roger pilot’s hat and eyepatch, and he also serves as the club host for a bride’s time. He also has a shaved-and-tattooed chest and is an mechanical natural macaw. He recalls the Barker Bird mechanical, which was taken down from the Pirates interest in 2006, in its entirety. This chatty bird is just one of the many ways Beak and Barrel pays tribute to the traditional Johnny Depp-starring and Disney ride film series.
The fresh watering hole is “living there between” the shows and the destination, with both existing in this story, according to Walt Disney Imagineering older creative director Chris Weck.  ,
Everyone in this bar is aware of all of those thieves and the world they live in, he says, but we like to think of this as being merely off cameras of all of those activities.
Let’s break down some of the best nods and Easter eggs that bring The Beak and Barrel to life and introduce a” spirited” new chapter to the world of pirates in this context.
Plagiarized Arts
Weck claims that” the majority of the art that you see these actually came straight from the movies.”  ,
And there is a lot of beautiful artwork on display in B&, B, that may or may not be plunderered or used to give off a page. There is enough art to hold a theme park adventure 45 minutes in the club ( the utmost moment allowed for each visit ) along with the incredible artifacts and a lot of skull-y imagery. Although it was difficult for me to identify the movies ‘ features, the wall of well-known and renowned figures in the back sitting room of The Captain’s Quarters place is my personal favorite series. Capt. Capt. is just one of those photos. Goldwyn.
Metal Screen Gems
Beyond the artwork, there are numerous pirate-themed screen props for eagle-eyed ( or parrot-eyed ) people. supporters to visit.  ,
One of the Chalices of Cartagena from On Stranger Tides, the fifth movie in the company, is located inside the large skull-shaped Condemned Club directly behind Rummy’s platform, according to senior creative director Ken Ricci. Additionally, The Cursed Bar offers unique bottles and other items of value, with the Enchanted Rum Bottle’s place of honor in particular. This bottle was “gifted by a powerful enchantress,” ( Tia Dalma, played by Naomi Harris in the movies ),” which helps keep the rum flowing freely, according to Disney Parks Blog.
An elegant cannon leansing against the wall above the door is visible when you face the tavern’s exit, certainly that you’ll want to leave. A closer examination reveals it to be a lion gun from the Chinese rogue ship from the second Pirates movie, At World’s End.
Hidden Treasures
The Mess, the main dining room that welcomes guests before it was claimed by thieves, was previously occupied by Spanish soldiers. When you walk by the gate, a bell that Captain Redd gave to Merry will appear, which is known to ring during spiritual times. Additionally, above the entry, nestled above the door, is Kat the gold-earring-wearing black cat that breathes and swaddles its tail. Real-life mercenaries ‘ petrified flags are scattered all over the roof, and they come just before the dimly lit spot where the original brig’s bars were once affixed.
In The Captain’s Quarters, glass-filled small boats fight off against one another during certain ambient scenes, and a doomed ship even sinks in a manner reminiscent of that in Disneyland’s Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar. Along four great booths, sturdy carvings depict the exploits of well-known pirates, like Jack Sparrow, in a diorama honoring his fight with the ghostly and hiding in a rum barrel. Captain Jack’s appearance is evident throughout the table, right down to the posting of his Pirate’s Vow, despite the fact that he is physically barred from entry due to unpaid debt.
In the meantime, The Mapmaker’s Room contains the elusive function of a geologist who swore she would never find the ideal chart. A cannon ball was lodged into the walls where thieves had to fire upon the place after the developer barricaded himself in, along with some black-light results and an enchanted map.  ,
And above the Cursed Bar is a dangling, dirty foot of a lone pirate who is squatting in a hammock suspended from the ceiling, similar to a scoundrel seen in the Pirates attraction. Additionally, I’d wager that there are hidden skull motifs in a few locations throughout the bar, such as in one of the Captain’s booths I sat in.  ,
All of The Beak and Barrel’s locations are filled with goodies that satisfy the curious, that is all there is to say. And that includes the dramatic happenings that take place in the bar when sirens enchant guests with their magical calls, squalls roll in, and everyone is encouraged to choose a pirate’s life by yelling” Yo, Ho”!
