Thirty-six week.

A little reality check on how much time I have available for business during the New Year’s resolutions is a part of my plotting process.

What are you talking about, Rob? You have a month.

Essentially, that’s true. But, on closer examination, I only have 36 FULL days available.

36 is the innovative 52

My approach is quite simple. In 2025, I created a spreadsheet to list items every year. You’ll immediately see that the first full month of school starts on January 6th.

Next, I schedule week so that I can spend time with family and friends.

Therefore, I keep in mind that each year a vacation or other personal function limits the amount of time I have available for work.

I want a less demanding work schedule because I observed months where my kids were taking a break from school.

I observe the ebbs and flows of home life, such as school time beginning and end.

Taking all that into consideration, I was left with 36 whole week.

Thirty-six days is a very unique variety to work with than fifty-two.

Here’s what I found most useful about this practice.

1. I’m setting aside time for my family to begin my monthly planning. I’ve made a decision to dedicate a lot of time to that right away.

2. Many of the other weeks ( holidays, school vacation, weeks of transition ) will happen regardless. By planning for them, I can schedule around them.

3. When I consider what I want to achieve future time, I have a distinct idea of how much time is available to dedicate to them.

Thirty-six whole week.

Your number will likely be unique. It’s important to determine your amount and make a schedule accordingly.

I&#8217, ve been seeing a lot of Twitter accounts, both normal customer accounts as well as product accounts, using expensive, mathematics and another symbol fonts in their tweets. These figures are all constitutional, and part of the Unicode normal. We should examine these characters more closely than we would a picture from a note-taking game in a tweet.

On one hand, I get it. These people can brighten up your tweet’s text copy and give it some life. This comes with a find nevertheless. Those special figures may crack convenience. This includes being able to read talk from monitor visitors and other speech resources.

Why is this poor?

In that message from the Cleveland Cavaliers, you can see the phrase &#8220, fifty &#8221, is really little cap numeric figures. It&#8217, s a great effect, but it can wreak disaster in camera users.

Why are these people poor? First, they were designed as mathematical and other symbols, so screen readers either skip them ( which happens when I use my Mac&#8217, s speech feature ) or read out to the user the symbol equivalent. In this picture, you can see a fantastic case:

Automattic, the firm that runs WordPress.com and many other services like JetPack, WooCommerce and more has received$ 300 million USD in funding from Amazon. From TechCrunch:

Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, WooCommerce and soon Tumblr, has closed a$ 300 million funding round at a$ 3 billion post-money valuation. The Collection D square has a second investor, Salesforce Ventures.

First off, congratulations to Matt Mullenweg and the Automattic crew for this round. That&#8217, s a huge investment and Sap is an interesting, and single companion in this expense. This will increase service, integrate new mergers like Tumblr, and create more jobs. All great stuff. I would love for someone to commit anything, let alone some hundred million dollars in my business.

It’s not difficult to understand why Salesforce would commit such a large sum in a business known for its blog posts when you read them. One-third of the web is now powered by WordPress, which includes websites for small-time blogs as well as publishers and online retailers. What does this mean for you?

What does this funding mean for those of us who use, build for, and are deeply in the pits with WordPress has been the question I’ve been thinking about all day. I believe the responses are both positive and negative.

To begin, it means more advertising. I don&#8217, t suggest show or text advertisements are going to start populating WordPress. Otherwise, you are going to see an increase in the development of Automattic&#8217, s services and products in goods like WooCommerce, product files and more, putting their goods in front of tens of millions of WordPress customers, admins and developers.

Last month, I wrote about my practice of getting to 500, 000 people account views on Snap. While completely acknowledging that I am no Snap&#8217, s target demographic, it &#8217, s been interesting to watch the fall, drop and potential fall again of this business. This is a crucial time for the social media platform, as new sites like TikTok are gaining a lot of popularity worldwide, particularly in higher education.

What I’ve Learned from a Million Public Story Perspectives on Snap first appeared on HighEdWebTech.

Yeah, that &#8217, s a somewhat clickbait-y subject, but these are terrible times. Colleges are cutting programs, scaling manner up and in some serious instances, closing immediately. It’s difficult to get a whole week without hearing a story about the looming end of higher education.

Is higher ed dying? No, I don&#8217, t think thus. Is it ill? Yes, I believe thus.

Recently, I came across a news article about the absence of university degrees for employees at large companies like Google, Apple, and Netflix. I was struck by this statement:

Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, recently claimed that about half of the company’s US workforce last year was made up of people without four-year levels. Cook argued that many schools do not impart the skills that business leaders require most, such as programming.

That&#8217, s worrying, but hardly shocking. It&#8217, s challenging to rapidly pivot at businesses as big as a school. Apple may choose to stop producing X monday and switch to Y. This is much more difficult to do for us.

As we go through the college search process with our oldest kid, I’ve been thinking about this a bit since. I’ve been paying attention to the outcomes, the price, and the experience my son may have like never before. What will the practice be like for my younger brother five years after that? Hope to read a lot of posts about my experiences with this research method in the upcoming months. I’m aware of how bacon is made, so I’ve been both amazed and completely shocked by how some schools approach potential students. That&#8217, s a ( series of ) post ( s ) for another day.

I watched this video last week, and while I disagree with some of the things Patrick Bet-David is saying, some of them make a lot of sense, especially the passages about speed, memory, and tech changing so quickly that some programs are out of time before they even begin. We all anticipated a lot more from this year. Naturally. Sorry for the exaggeration, but it &#8217, s real, especially when it comes to hosting events in higher physician. We all saw our large organized activities like admitted scholar open houses, initiation, students meetings, seminars and more postponed, done on Zoom, or cancelled.

As the parent of an incoming freshman school student, I have participated in numerous Zoom activities this spring and summer. Some were excellent. Some were Fine. Some were terrible. There are just so many variables when it comes to internet events, especially when there are many people coming from different locations. There are so many factors when it comes to people&#8217, s cameras, lighting, microphones, reflections, background and more. Due to these factors, our occasions don’t have a steady appearance and feel.

Perhaps we need to reevaluate how we&#8217, re doing life events in higher physician, and not just during a pandemic. Let&#8217, s be fair, this won&#8217, t change after this pandemic ends or a vaccination is accessible. People will be worried about big gatherings for the near future.

A British rock band called Biffy Clyro performed a live performance this past weekend that truly opened my eyes to new methods to perform live performances.

Before I go much further, I&#8217, m a great Biffy lover. I&#8217, ve seen them four times, I&#8217, ve got all their albums ( many on vinyl. ) Next year, they released their ninth full size album, A Celebration of Endings. Typically, a band may release an album and complete advertising around the world, including live shows. Since just about every life, in-person function is cancelled, it &#8217, s forced musicians to find alternative ways to connect with fans and promote their job.

Biffy Clyro are no different. The band also promoted a life global event where they would be playing their entire new album exist in addition to an sound series that started earlier this summer. Prices started at$ 20 and went up from there. If you included a CD or vinyl purchase with your order, the prices were significantly higher.

Despite being a huge fan, I must confess that I was skeptical at first about the occasion. Given the cost of the stream, which may take less than 90 minutes, I was concerned about the stream’s quality.
