Annapurna Interactive, one of the most talked-about creators at Summer Game Fest 2025, showcased a wide range of activities created by their independent partners. Annapurna Interactive also revealed more information about its warm slice-of-life name Mixtape, which was created by Beethoven & Dinosaur, released its caper game Snap &amp, Grab, developed by No Goblin, and gave a hands-on demonstration of its mech-action sport Bounty Star, which was created by DINOGOD. Den of Geek demoed the first version of Bounty Star after speaking with some of the game designers for Mixtape and Bounty Star.

Bounty Star, the sun-baked pro game from DINOGOD, has a very contemporary feel to its title. Clem, a pro aircraft with a tragic history who lives on a rural house in an arid environment reminiscent of the American Southwest, is controlled by the game. She tries to make ends meet with events from her life. Clementine uses her bounty to not only enhance and personalize her mech but also to enhance her ranch, which adds to the mech-based combat missions.

Ben Ruiz, the artistic director and game custom for DINOGOD, recalls the causes of Bounty Star as” I was driving through Monument Valley on the boundary between Arizona and Utah, realizing that it was wonderful and why there wasn’t a match set it. Between that generate and the thought of what kind of sport I was put in, it started to develop. I’ve always adore Westerns and Mesh. It was exactly the kind of thing that fast and naturally bonded. I finally had a narrative and design record down a fortnight afterwards.

Bounty Star exhibits all the typical characteristics of the tank combat style, including a variety of customizations and upgrades for the equipment and a contract-based vision that has Clem fire through waves of distinctive enemy types. However, it was crucial for Ruiz and the rest of the development team to make their game more character-driven, really focusing on Clem’s personal development and empowerment, which are especially evident in the base-building moments between combat missions as players breathe and become acquainted with him. Ruiz looked to the real world for inspiration in order to create the character, which is something the genre is typically known for.

It’s an homage to the real badass tough ladies because I’ve known many of them, Ruiz says, citing the game’s inspirations and narrative drive. Bounty Star‘s “base gameplay comes from,” which is what it actually looks like if you’re living it, especially in the desert, where it’s much harder than it would be in a city environment.

Bounty Star is a neo-Western film that exploits its southwestern-inspired setting and archetypes, going further than other mech action titles. And based on the hands-on demo we were given access to, the combat feels simple and intuitive, and Clem’s base and growth reflect her career trajectory, which further distinguishes Bounty Star from its contemporaries.

Mixtape has been generating a lot of buzz among the independent titles linked to the event ever since it was announced at Summer Game Fest 2024, and the buzz has only increased one year later. Players could have gotten a better idea of what to expect from the game thanks to the atmospheric soundtrack featuring classics from The Smashing Pumpkins and Siouxsie and the Banshees, which was available at the event. The development team enjoyed getting a slice of life focus when the game, which is set in one of the last magical high school years, takes three friends on an adventure of youthful reckless abandon in their lush town.

Roman Maksymyschyn, the technical director for Beethoven &amp, Dinosaur, says,” It’s so enjoyable to work on because you can go into each little vignette so fresh.” I’m not just directing a man to swing a sword for 40 hours. You enter with fresh eyes and feel inspired to make something new and cool every time we get to make something new.

This memorable, pop music-infused night on the town &#8211, complete with downhill skateboarding, avoiding the police, and generally enjoying youth’s freewheeling potential in its twilight moments, was partially derived from the team’s own life experiences. These emotional moments are beautifully accentuated by the game’s soundtrack, which goes beyond just being beautifully rendered visually and perfectly balanced with engaging and immersive gameplay. Beethoven & Dinosaur were eager to deliver on this aspect of Mixtape‘s development early on.

According to Maksymyschyn,” a big part of that is that everyone on the team just really loves music,” which makes it a “music-first kind of game.” The story and game were based on the fact that the soundtrack was largely created first. It had to be perfectly in tune for technical people who are also interested in music to be able to use all the artistic notes. We were able to carry out something quite special.”

Mixtape is poised to become one of the most eagerly awaited indie releases of the year while evoking an era infused with nostalgia and mood while staying relevant for modern audiences. We can’t wait to enter those adolescent glory days, when anything seemed possible, based on the comments from the developers and what else we’ve seen.

Bounty Star, which was created by DINOGOD and published by Annapurna Interactive, is scheduled to be released on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Mixtape will be available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC in 2025 after being created by Beethoven &amp, Dinosaur, and published by Annapurna Interactive.
